Fellowship & Diplomate Status
The NDBA was established in 2001 to recognize dentists who have training and expertise in the administration of general anesthesia. Achieving Diplomate status in the NDBA will further ensure dentistry's ability to continue to provide high quality anesthesia care. And, because the NDBA was created by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the NDBA embraces all dentists who administer general anesthesia.
ADSA's Fellowship began in the 1960's and is mentioned as a qualifier in many Dental Practice Acts. Since 2001, successful completion of the NDBA Diplomate Examinations has also conferred Fellow status in ADSA. Thus, NDBA examinees are able to become ADSA Fellows with a single exam.
