Optimizing Crisis Resource Management During Office Medical Emergencies

Managing Complications During Sedation and General Anesthesia: A TEAM approach to crisis resource management (CRM)

Now for the ENTIRE OFFICE TEAM (Limit 2 Staff To Each Doctor), an educational high fidelity simulation experience for successful management of complications to optimize your team's reactions and responses.

 

 

Intended Audience:


This course is intended for practitioners providing IV moderate sedation and deep sedation/general anesthesia.

Course registration is limited to provide each registrant with an optimal educational hands on experience. Acceptance in the course requires receipt of your application and payment of the course fee to assure you a position in the course of your preference.

 

Course Description:

This unique and challenging program provides a clinical simulation experience that addresses the proper assessment and management of complications associated with moderate sedation and general anesthesia. Participants are provided prerequisite materials for study, including treatment algorithms and a course pretest. Following a brief introduction explaining essential principles, participants will demonstrate appropriate patient management on human patient simulators. (Laerdal SimMan).


Objectives:


Describe and demonstrate appropriate components of an adequate primary assessment.
Discuss various anatomical and pathological causes of airway obstruction and demonstrate their recognition and appropriate management.
Describe and demonstrate the recognition and appropriate management of respiratory depression, distinguishing it from airway obstruction.
Describe and demonstrate appropriate management of bradycardia and hypotension.


Continuing Education Credit:


The ADSA is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider and an Accepted National Sponsor (#218597) for FAGD/MAGD Credit. The 1/2 day SimMan course provides four (4) hours of CE credit.
